Are reservations required?
Reservations are not required but recommended, especially on weekends and holidays.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Venmo, zelle, PayPal, cash app as well for walk ups. All renters must have a valid ID and credit card in their name at time of rental.
What is the security deposit policy?
Kayak and Paddleboard reservations do not require a security deposit. There is a $100 security deposit for the Waverunners day of.
How does check-in work?
Check in on-site at 63rd Street Beach at least 15 minutes prior to your rental time to secure your reservation.
Do you provide storage while I'm on the water?
We provide secure storage in the building during your rental for any personal items.
Where should I park?
The following parking options are available:
Cheap metered parking is usually available at 63rd Street Beach.
On busy weekends and on holidays, parking is available on the west side of Lake Shore Drive as well. In this case you can walk through the tunnel under Lake Shore Drive.
Park at Reggies Bar N Grill @ 2105 S State St, Chicago, IL 60616 and take the free shuttle to the beach. Double check that this option is available on your rental day.
Do I have to know how to swim?
Although you will be provided a USCG approved life jacket, the ability to swim is still highly recommended in order for you to enjoy yourself and your time on the water!
Do you provide life jackets or wetsuits?
Life jackets equipped with safety whistles will be provided for all renters. You must be wearing a swimsuit in order to rent equipment.
Is there a place to change?
There are bathrooms on site in order to change in and out of swimwear if necessary.
Can we take our rentall to the Chicago River, playpen, or Navy Pier?
It is imperative that all renters stay within visual contact of our rental location. This is strictly enforced and anything otherwise will not be tolerated.
Do you offer full-day rentals?
Waverunners (or Jetskis) are only available to rent by the 1/2 hour. From experience we have found that this is the ideal amount of time before fatigue and other factors set in. Kayaks and paddleboards can be rented for up to 3 hrs.
